Few schools in the world are blessed with the facilities and resources available at Wellington College International Shanghai, all of which are designed to support our wide-ranging co-curricular activities programme, both after school and at weekends.
The College library is the geographic and academic heart of the school. While its primary focus is to encourage a love of reading, it also serves as a multimedia centre for Prep and Senior School pupils, promoting independent study. Similarly, the science laboratories, art rooms and the design technology suites are designed to encourage an enjoyment of both practical and theoretical work. They are also entirely suited to fostering that extra level of creativity and ambition that our scientists, artists and designers strive for and ultimately achieve.
The Performing Arts Centre caters for our musicians, dancers and thespians, with dedicated practice rooms, a dance studio, the Black Box theatre space and, for school assemblies as well as major concerts and productions, the 500-seat College Theatre which features industry-level lighting, sound and support capabilities. Sport is another major priority and our facilities are second to none, including the state-of-the-art indoor sports dome, the sports hall, three football pitches, a 400-metre all-weather synthetic running track, tennis and basketball courts and two swimming pools, one of which is a 25-metre, six-lane competition pool.
